The Tampa Bay community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Julie Tingley, a devoted mother, passionate writer, and the visionary founder of Wee Macree, who passed away recently. Her untimely departure has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew her, collaborated with her, and were uplifted by her relentless dedication to service and storytelling.
Julie was a force for good. As the President and Founder of Wee Macree, a nonprofit with the mission of “kids helping kids,” she empowered young minds to take part in acts of kindness and service. Her work reached hundreds of families and built a sense of community rooted in compassion and generosity. Her ability to lead with heart and purpose turned Wee Macree into a powerful movement of change in Florida and beyond.

In her professional journey, Julie wore many hats with grace and excellence. From her early days in pharmaceutical and medical sales to her heartfelt writing with Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine, she carved out a path defined by empathy, intelligence, and vision. Whether she was planning a nonprofit fundraiser, interviewing families, or mentoring young women through her work with The KNOW Women, Julie never lost sight of her goal: to create meaningful impact.
Julie’s educational background reflected her lifelong commitment to learning and leadership. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business & Marketing from Stetson University, where she was recognized by numerous honor societies and leadership programs. She also studied abroad at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico, where she interned with General Motors and helped implement a marketing plan for education initiatives.
Her legacy extends far beyond her professional achievements. Julie was a devoted wife to Ken, and an adoring mother to Ella and Kate, who were the center of her universe. Every project, every story, and every smile she shared was rooted in the love she held for her family.
