It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Ellie Knight, who left this world on April 2, 2025, at 11:12 AM, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Surrounded by family and friends, Ellie passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, grace, and boundless love.
Ellie, a proud native of Perry, Georgia, had been living in Athens, where she made an indelible mark both professionally and personally. She served as Director of Operations and Branding at Whitewood Events, where her creative brilliance and passion for connection transformed weddings and special moments into cherished memories.
A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia, Ellie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations in 2022. During her time at UGA, she was a vibrant and deeply involved student—an active member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, the Wesley Foundation, UGA HEROs, Rouge Magazine, PRSSA, and UGA Food2Kids. Ellie embodied the heart and spirit of the Bulldog community, touching lives with her infectious smile, natural leadership, and endless kindness.
Before UGA, Ellie attended The Westfield School, where she stood out not only for her academic excellence—as an Honor Graduate with Distinction and AP Scholar with Honor—but also for her incredible involvement in student life. From theater and student government to tutoring younger students, Ellie lived with intention, compassion, and joy from an early age.
On December 10, 2024, Ellie’s world changed with the discovery of an unexplained mass. By December 31, it was diagnosed as ovarian cancer. Despite an intense fight that included 71 days in the hospital, multiple surgeries, and two rounds of chemotherapy, Ellie’s body could not overcome the damage to her lungs and kidneys. Her bravery, however, never wavered. She remained strong, loving, and selfless throughout her final journey.
Ellie was more than a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend—she was a light. A light that brought hope to others. A light that showed up for those in need. A light that will never fade from the hearts of those who knew her.
